Assistant Professor - Department of Teacher Education and Leadership

The Mississippi College Teacher Education and Leadership Department prepares candidates to be successful educators, administrators, and specialty area leaders. Mississippi College is hiring an Assistant Professor with specific educational and practical experiences in online portfolio-data analysis, supervising graduate and undergraduate candidates, statistical measurement, research methods, leading and serving on dissertation committees. This individual will teach courses in special education, leadership, elementary methods, community-school relations, information management, statistical analysis, curriculum development and evaluation. Applicants should have superior written and verbal communication skills with relevant experience and evidence of work in K-12 and higher education. This is a nine- month, tenure-track position with summer teaching expected.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include teaching a minimum of four classes per semester-online and traditional teaching- (12 academic hours) (fall and spring), advising students, serving on university and departmental committees (as determined by department chair, dean, and provost), data collection, grant writing/development, advising, supporting student organizations, and participating in departmental activities as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum requirements include a doctoral degree in a related educational field, from an accredited institution, and professional experience in the areas listed above. Applicants with an Ed.D. or Ph.D. will be considered. This individual reports to the Chair of the Teacher Education and Leadership Department.
