A comprehensive center of excellence in southwest Tennessee is seeking a dedicated Blood Bank Laboratory Scientist to join its laboratory team!
This 300+ bed acute care center is world-renowned in several specialty areas including trauma and is known for exceptional services in primary care, oncology, and rehabilitation. A full continuum of care is provided to the surrounding community that includes top-tier laboratory services. This health system was built to improve access to screenings and preventative care in order to promptly treat routine illness and avoid serious illness. The Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Blood Bank will feel right at home at this patient- and employee-centered facility.
The Blood Bank Laboratory Scientist will report to the laboratory supervisor with responsibilities that include performing patient sample testing for disease detection, interpreting and analyzing results. Tests to include, but not limited to, blood bank typing, antibody identification, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, blood gases, and cardiac. Additional duties involve proper operation and maintenance of lab equipment, performing quality control measures, conducting competency assessments, assisting supervisors and managers with inventory and safety, and assisting in the orientation and overseeing the supervision of new staff members and students. Individuals who earn quick interviews will be ASCP or AMT certified, have a TN MLT license, and have experience in blood bank.
