Otterbein University is in search of a
Coordinator of Music Operations & Programs who coordinates music events, manages logistics in Batelle, and generally supports the Department of Music by performing the duties listed below. This position reports to the chairperson of the Music department.
This is a non-exempt, full time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates all programmatic and operational aspects of the music program
- Supervises departmental student employees including stage managers and media intern
- Helps plan and participates in Department of Music faculty meetings
- Oversees the departmental budget and all financial operations
- Coordinates and implements applied music/ensemble payroll operations
- Tabulates and distributes faculty applied/ensemble evaluation results
- Coordinates room scheduling for the Department of Music
- Schedules events and maintains all calendars for the Department of Music (outside of the regular class schedule managed by the Registrar)
- Generates work orders and coordinates equipment moves for events in and out of Battelle
- Manages all logistics for concerts and events, including box office for ticketed Music events
- Creates publicity and programs for concerts
- Creates the season concert brochure and the biannual department newsletter, "Music at Otterbein"
- Coordinates auditions and campus visits for incoming Music students
- Maintains and updates the Department of Music website
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in music or an arts-related field. General experience in computerized systems required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: N/A
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written English skills including grammar.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be competent in general math.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Knowledge of general office procedures. Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills. Must take pride in and be thorough in quality of work produced; must be able to use general office equipment including office PC, copier, telephone system
REASONING ABILITY: Must be very detail-oriented; must be a team player and interact collegially with co-workers and other constituencies. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must possess strong organizational skills. Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in unusual or new situations. Must be able to work independently and must retain confidential information.
