Director of Marketing & Experience Location Fargo, ND (Westgate area) :

The Director of Marketing & Experience leads West Acres' brand, promotion, event and advertising efforts to build awareness, drive traffic and enhance our customers' experience both in-mall and online. Responsibilities include leading our marketing team, developing and implementing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing and experiential efforts, communicating the marketing plans and results, and building awareness and positioning for West Acres brand. This senior level role plays a key part in driving West Acres culture and works across teams to ensure a vibrant environment for guests and teams alike.

Core Functions

  • Demonstrates a culture of customer service by interacting with coworkers, mall tenants, vendors, and customers in a friendly, engaging, respectful manner
  • Leads by example with positivity, compassion and strong work ethic to exemplify our company values through marketing projects, daily work ethic, and commitment to our company
  • Actively leads the marketing and social media team and manages team workflow
  • Implements strategy, planning and execution of marketing on channels including, but not limited to: social media, website and online media, SMS, email, and print
  • Creates internal and external marketing pieces including, but not limited to: in-mall signage, sponsorship and other ads, large-scale graphics, event branding and materials, and leasing materials
  • Prepares, plans and implements effective advertising and experiential initiatives that drive traffic and increase brand awareness, attract and maintain tenants while contributing positively to the customer experience and brand perception
  • Plans and implements West Acres events, experiences and activations while building and maintaining relationships across teams and with business partners on the ideation, creations and execution process.
  • Attends events or high traffic times outside normal business hours on occasion (shared between marketing team members, flexible schedule as needed)
  • Works closely with media partners to plan and execute public relations
  • Acts as the face of the West Acres brand for media interviews in relation to marketing and experiences, including but not limited to: television, radio, or print
  • Thinks strategically to ensure long-term vibrancy of West Acres
  • Defines and reports goals and success metrics for all marketing initiatives
  • Works closely with COO and CFO to plan and control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects
  • Stays up to date on industry and consumer trends to analyze and alter marketing initiatives to meet objectives
  • Creates and maintains a vibrant brand image - for customers, team members and tenants
  • Acts as the back-up for the social media team including but not limited to gathering content, answering customer inquiries, scheduling, and posting.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in marketing, communications, or social media
  • Experience in managing a team and working across teams
  • Event planning and execution experience strongly recommended
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing and analytics
  • Well-versed in the use of social media as a marketing tool, on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Photography and Videography and editing knowledge and experience required
  • Graphic design knowledge and experience strongly required
  • Strategic thinker; can manage both high level strategy and detailed execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate processes for improvements
  • Project management skills; ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
