Job Summary

The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for the oversight and management of the strength and conditioning program for all GGC sports.

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is responsible for reporting crimes and other incidents to the Clery Act Compliance Officer for inclusion in the Annual Campus Security Report in accordance with the Federal Clery Act and GGC policy.

Responsibilities

1 -
25% - Oversee strength & conditioning program, including scheduling, program development, rules and guidelines, security & safety, cleaning and maintenance of the weight room as well as identification of equipment needs and maintenance

2 -
25% - Supervise year-round strength and conditioning programs for all 8 GGC sports programs to optimize athletic performance, decrease injury potential, and implement flexibility/mobility programs into warm-ups, lifting, post-training to ensure peak performance of athletes

15% - Manage internship program in partnership with School of Science and Technology Exercise Science department

4 -
15% - A secondary assignment in the athletic department may be required such as gameday assistance and/or van driver for away games

5 -
10% - Assist in the implementation of rehab and reconditioning programs prescribed by the athletic training staff

6 -
5% - Manage and oversee testing protocols to determine the effectiveness of strength and conditioning training plans

7 -
5% - Actively participate in assigned education and training programs

Required Qualifications

4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in exercise physiology or related field
1 - 2 years of experience as a full-time strength and conditioning coach (Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate)
NSCA CSCS certification and/or CSCCa SCCC certification
AHA Adult CPR, AED certification

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a full-time strength and conditioning coach in intercollegiate sports preferred.
Certified Sports Performance Coach (CSPC), USAW certification, PES, CES, or any additional relevant certification
Experience implementing performance training systems

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively work with all athletes.
Experience with programming design for various sport programs
Knowledge of NAIA and or NCAA rules and regulations
