Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:

The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and works closely with the CFO and other members of the Accounting Team on a daily basis. The person in this position performs key functions within the Accounts Payable. This person uses their analytical skills to help our management teams run the business more

efficiently. They desire to work both independently and with others across all

departments of the company, are a self-driven, goal oriented professional and has the

ability to drive for results in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

This person has a great attitude, is highly motivated, and has superior

attention to detail and a passion for great food.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and process invoices received from vendors into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and proper coding into the General Ledger.
• Oversee the timely processing of EDI invoices into the accounting system, including following up with vendors to resolve issues as needed.
• Works with managers throughout the organization to resolve all invoice and approval discrepancies to ensure proper payments are processed.
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up with vendors as needed.
• Respond to vendor inquiries relating to payment of invoices.
• Maintain accurate vendor accounts (addresses, phone numbers, 1099s, etc.) in the accounting records.
• Assist with the preparation of 1099 tax forms.
• Assists with period-end account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to present analysis to management.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to Accounting policies and procedures to streamline processes and enhance automation.

Requirements:

• At least two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Familiarity with general accepted accounting principles required. Experience in the food or hospitality industry a plus.
• Proven customer service skills, is resourceful and demonstrates initiative within a team environment.
• Proven project management skills, meets deadlines, and demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and database programs.
• Demonstrated ability to meet attendance standards as defined in company policies required.
